Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
In Matthew 22:36-39, Jesus was asked, “Which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” He replied , “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Our first commission is to Love God with ALL. How can we possibly love our neighbor as ourselves without the love of God permeating our entire being?
What does it mean to love our neighbor as ourselves? Do we take a shower every day, eat a good meal, brush our teeth? Do we take care of our family’s needs? Many children go to bed hungry at night, many don’t have clean water to drink, much less to brush their teeth with. To love is to care and that is what Hope for the World is doing in Albania right now. The need will always be there, there will always be more to do. Will you help us by loving and caring with us?
