Fredi and Prenda Zefi come as a package deal, and that package seems to keep growing! They are vital to all three of our works in Shkoder, Albania: the baby orphanage, the school-age orphanage, and the Center of Development for the handicapped. They have a daughter, Edona, and two sons, Tedi and Reuel, all three of which have a wonderful heart for our ministry and spend much time with our orphan children. They are also recent foster parents of a boy named Klodjan from the baby orphanage.
Alfred Zefi: Director in Shkoder
Fredi has much responsibility in leadership roles with the workers at each home. He also teaches Bible to the children and holds discipleship classes with those who have become Christians, helping them grow in the Lord. He hosts all of the groups who come to Shkoder, and is an ordained deacon in his church. His ministry in the church focuses on evangelism, as Fredi is a great soul-winner. He and Prenda have led the majority of their families to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. They have large families... There are probably 50 or more who have come to Christ through their witness. He also has a large impact on the community, involved with food banks, outreach to the Roma Gypsy people and ministering into the mountain country surrounding Shkoder. Fredi and Prenda have been wonderful members of the Hope for the World Family since 2000.
Prenda Zefi: Caregiver
Prenda's work has been with the baby orphanage on a daily basis. She has been the one teaching the workers how to love and care for the babies and also brings other Christian ladies into the orphanage to help her give the TLC that these babies need to "nurture" them, and boy do the babies love her! She also teaches Bible lessons and songs to the toddlers. She has been employed with Hope for the World in Albania since 2000. Prenda also helps in other orphanages with teaching Bible lessons, and does much of Fredi's secretarial work connected with sponsorship matters.
Mirela Ymeraj: Caregiver
Mirela started working with Hope for the World in 1995. She originally worked with a pre-school orphanage in Shkoder for many years. They have recently closed that orphanage and she has moved her responsibilities to the Center of Development for the handicapped in Shkoder. She has always loved orphan children and her heart has gone out to them. Mirela thanks the Lord for letting her teach them about God. She has a very quiet spirit and it is a wonderful way to reach those who have mental problems and physical problems. She has a real gift of mercy and love. She teaches the educable ones about God and the stories from the Bible. She also is gifted in singing and they enjoy music together.
She and her family are members of the Bible Baptist Church in Shkoder. Her husband is Herton, and they have two sons, Hermes and Naimir.
Along with caring for the needy in Albania for over 25 years, Roger and Cherie have spent a lifetime in Evangelism, Gospel music and soul-winning services for Christ Jesus.
